Vice President Of Sales – Surgical Capital – San Francisco 1980315

The Vice President, Sales provides direction and guidance for US and International Sales; Sales Operations, Enterprise Business functions. Directly responsible for determining company strategy, defining objectives, and coordinating activities for Sales. Serves as spokesperson for the Sales department on matters of high significance to the business.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in business administration or related field (Masters Degree preferred)
- 10+ years of progressively responsible experience in the medical device/capital equipment marketplace with at least 8 years’ experience in a high level management capacity; or equivalent combination of education and experience. (VP Sales experience preferred.)
- Demonstrated ability to provide both strategic and tactical approaches for increasing sales;
- Demonstrated knowledge of cost effective sales strategies;
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills are required;
- Ability to drive results and foster a positive, high-performing culture in the Sales division.
- Ability to provide team leadership, motivation, mentoring and a reputation as a leader with sustained performance and accomplishments;
- Ability to interact with internal and external executive-level management of extremely difficult matters to influence policies and procedures both internally and externally.
- Travel requirement minimum 50%.
- This is a home office based position located in Union City, CA.
Responsibilities:
- Understand, promote and lead following the Corporate Vision, Mission & Values Statements.
- Contribute to the development and delivery of the company goals and objectives.
- Understand, follow and support the Company’s internal Quality System policies, procedures and work instructions including but not limited to applicable external regulations (21 Code of Federal Regulations Part 820 Quality System Regulations and applicable International Standards).
- Must have deep knowledge base of the sales process with the ability to engage senior-level executives in strategic dialogue to ensure top-down alignment regarding strategy and objectives.
Domestic Sales:
- Provide direction and coaching to multiple functional and personnel areas.
- Evaluate performance and assist in career development planning for subordinates and identify readiness for promotion.
- Create long-range plans for the sales organizations that support the corporate goals.
- Participate in the budgeting process by translating strategic into operational goals; make final decisions on administrative or operational matters affecting more than one functional activity.
- Determine organizational structure and allocations of responsibilities within the Sales department.
- Create, develop and communicate a strategic vision for the areas of responsibility through facilitation of ongoing management staff meetings and department communication meetings.
- Ensure individual, group and organizational goals are aligned with the corporate goals.
- Create sales quotas annually and quarterly; establish appropriate commission and incentive systems that meet or exceed corporate goals.
- Create and communicate reliable reports for sales, both actual and forecast.
- Accountable for the overall success of the Sales department and for integrating those activities with those of other functional areas effectively.
- Make recommendations regarding problems that cross multiple organizational areas.
- In collaboration with other executives, provide creative solutions to key problems facing the organization.
- Anticipate changing demands from the organization and the environment and initiate action to position the Sales department and company appropriately.
- Mediate among multiple units, both internal and external, to resolve major conflicts and determine functional strategy.
- Monitor and report progress of the Sales department and continuously modify and align strategies and implementation toward company goals.
- Cooperate with the domestic Service department providing a unified experience to customers.
International Sales:
- Determine and implement sales strategy for International Sales that supports the corporate growth and revenue targets.
- Manage activities of the Senior Director of International Sales.
- Establish network of sales distributors; make changes to this network as necessary to meet established goals.
- Monitor International Distribution Agreement content and compliance regionally.
- Create and communicate reliable reports for sales, both actual and forecast.
