Position Description

The Business Development Manager is a key member of the Sales and Customer Experience team and drives revenue growth in new and existing accounts while delivering the highest level of service to patients, customers, and channel partners.



• Minimum 2-3 years spine experience in the operating room. Additional medical device operating room sales experience a plus.

• Demonstrated clinical understanding of spine anatomy and surgical procedures to treat spine diseases.

• Qualified for and able to maintain privileges at all required hospitals, including meeting any applicable physical requirements, vaccination, or background/drug test requirements.

• Ability to travel up to 50% of the time.

• Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) required



Primary Responsibilities

• Support and contribute to the growth of revenue in assigned region through delegated business development activities with surgeons, hospitals, and related staff.

• Identify and engage with target surgeons to convert their practices to meet product requirements.

• Create a business development plan and monthly goals to meet or exceed revenue expectations for regional and Company revenue targets. Review metrics of territory to determine the progress of the plan and adjust accordingly.

• Assist in onboarding new sales agents, surgeon customers, and healthcare institutions to provide seamless integration of products into their respective operations.

• Provide technical expertise and conduct training programs for surgeons, care teams, and sales agents on products and systems.

• Develop and maintain a strong working relationship with sales, sales agents, marketing, and operations to ensure exceptional service for surgeon customers.

• Provide technical support to Design Associates in the development of patient-specific surgical plans and devices.

• Provide surgical case coverage and support for product procedures as needed.

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with surgeon customers, hospital accounts, and channel partners.

• Document all customer interactions through CRM protocol.

• Meet training requirements including proficiency with professional selling skills, product knowledge, competitive product knowledge and territory management, and time management. Manage expense budget expectations as outlined by the management team.

• Compile lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads, based on information from the current base of business, business directories, marketing programs, and other sources.
