Location: U.S.-Based (Multiple Sites – Relocation May Not Be Required) Reports To: Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
Position Summary
A leading, publicly traded contract manufacturer is seeking a Divisional President – Medical to lead its strategic growth, commercial expansion, and operational execution in the company’s high-precision manufacturing environment. This executive will drive P&L growth, OEM partnerships, and global operations while ensuring regulatory compliance (FDA, ISO 13485, CE Mark, GMP) and implementing scalable, cost-effective manufacturing solutions.
This role requires a proven leader with expertise in contract manufacturing, precision machining, and business development within the medical device industry. The selected candidate will be instrumental in positioning the company as a key player in the expanding medical contract manufacturing (CDMO) market through organic and inorganic growth strategies.
Strategic Growth & Market Positioning
· Lead the division’s expansion into orthopedics, diagnostics, ophthalmology, cardiology, neurology, robotic navigation, and minimally invasive devices.
· Develop and execute a five-year commercial growth plan targeting OEM partnerships and long-term contracts.
· Oversee dual-use manufacturing assets to scale medical production and leverage capabilities across multiple industries.
· Identify and assess M&A opportunities to accelerate expansion and enhance the company’s market presence.
· Evaluate nearshoring/offshoring strategies to improve cost-efficiency and responsiveness to customer needs.
Key Responsibilities
· P&L Leadership: Manage a newer division of $500M+ revenue business, ensuring financial discipline and achieving EBITDA growth.
· Business Development & Sales: Secure high-value OEM contracts and establish strategic partnerships.
· Manufacturing & Operations: Oversee high-precision machining, metal forming, injection molding, metrology, and cleanroom assembly.
· Regulatory Compliance: Ensure full adherence to FDA 21 CFR Part 820, ISO 13485, CE Mark, and GMP.
· Investor & Board Engagement: Provide strategic insights to stakeholders and align company growth with financial expectations.
· Cross-Functional Leadership: Build and mentor high-performing teams across engineering, operations, sales, and quality.
Required Qualifications & Experience
· 15+ years of executive leadership experience in medical device contract manufacturing, precision machining, or related industries.
· Proven ability to scale a business unit, rebuild customer relationships, and expand production capabilities.
· Direct P&L management experience with revenue responsibility of at least $50M+ with expectations to grow the business (with already allotted resources) to $ 300M in 5 years.
· Strong business development acumen, securing OEM and Tier 1 supplier contracts.
· Expertise in commercial operations of precision machining, metal forming, and high-tolerance medical manufacturing.
· Familiarity with global supply chains, nearshoring, and international manufacturing operations.
· M&A experience preferred, with a track record of successful acquisitions and integrations.
