This is the top US Surgical Sales leader reporting to the General Manager and Vice President of the Medical Division of a well-established company expanding its Medical Division. The US Surgical Sales Director is responsible for achieving the US annual revenue budget in this high-growth business. They guide the strategy, tactics, and effectiveness of the US surgical sales team.

    

The growth of the Surgical Medical business requires a director-level, experienced sales leader with a previous record of accomplishment in high growth, entrepreneurial, clinically centered surgical businesses, and a demonstrated history of robust performance. The successful candidate will also have experience launching new surgical solutions into top teaching institutions, hiring a quickly expanding sales team, collaborating well with cross-functional peers, and leading high-performance teams. The company is growing rapidly due to a focus on this division and it is a rare opportunity to build your team from the ground up.

 

Requirements:  

  • Minimum of 8 years of Medical Device managerial experience.
  • Sales Leadership experience at a National Level.
  • Minimum of 8 years of Surgical sales experience.
  • Skilled at building and supporting a remote sales team across the US.
  • Strong understanding of the major US Medical Distributors’ business models.
  • Enthusiastic about a better clinical outcomes mission.
  • Proven capabilities in Performance Management.
  • Expertise in continued improvement through innovation and leading by example.
  • Experienced scaling up a sales team, while building upon the success of the early team.
  • Thrives in an entrepreneurial, high-growth, and fast-paced business unit.
  • Empowering sales coaching skills with a talented sales team.
  • Works effectively cross-functionally.

Responsibilities:  

  • Develop plans and execute strategies for developing business and achieving sales goals for the US Surgical business.
  • Achieves targets for profitable sales volume, market share growth, margin, and other key financial performance metrics.
  • Creates a culture of success and achievement, providing leadership to the sales team, while fostering and modeling accountability, professionalism, high performance, and ethical behavior. Then time is taken to acknowledge and celebrate the wins.
  • Establishes a culture of continuous learning and best practice sharing, relying on years of clinical and financial sales coaching.
  • Build a robust sales team hiring plan to recruit and hire additional surgical sales managers across the US, adding to our early-stage team of proven sales professionals.
  • Leads the sales team in a high-change environment, building on go-to-market successful outcomes to implement and pivot swiftly, considering where and how we win.
  • Collaborates well within the high-performing Medical leadership team that includes top Marketing, International Sales, and Operations leaders who also report to the Vice President and General Manager of Medical.
  • Defines sales processes that drive desired sales outcomes and identifies improvement where and when required.
  • Accountable for sales strategic planning, sales strategy development, forecasting, sales resource planning, and budgeting.
  • Establishes and maintains productive peer-to-peer relationships with customers and prospects.
  • Responsible for effective sales organization design, including sales jobs roles and compensation plans.
  • Establishes and maintains relationships with Key Opinion Leaders to ensure effective ongoing business development and flow of information for product. needs and market conditions, while aiding Marketing with podium and MarCom targets.
  • Puts in place infrastructure and systems to support the success of the sales function.
  • Guides and collaborates with the Customer Success Team.
  • Investigate new business opportunities to create value for the business and customer and create demand for our products.

Travel: Road Warrior throughout the country with occasional international travel. 

Degree: BA/BS, MBA preferred
